The J.C. Penney coat everyone will think is from Barbour

For a second year in a row, the troubled department store J.C. Penney has the must-have autumn coat.

Reduced on the J.C. Penney website to clearance, the Stafford Prep Redford waxed cotton coat easily passes for a much more expensive Barbour coat.

Granted, the changing weather — winter is getting closer with every passing day — may mean the Barbour-style coat isn't practical for wearing in the northern parts of the United States.

But even if you don’t wear the coat until spring, its incredibly affordable price of $54.99 (available here) makes it too good of a value to pass up.

And who knows, you might even be able to score a better price what with J.C. Penney's move back towards clearance prices and coupons.

One thing to note is the coat's color.

While described as "forest black" on the J.C. Penney, its color is more dark olive. It also has a dark blue corduroy collar, which nicely contrasts with the coat's tartan lining.
