A closer look at Lands' End shirting

It’s been a few days since PinstripesandTweed.com featured the new range of shirt offerings from Lands’ End.

In this time, a sampling of the shirts have been worn in all sorts of settings: office, weekend and after-hours.

It may be tough to beat a custom shirt — if only because of the details that one can get — but Lands’ End has done a pretty good job with the shirts found in the new “Made to Work” campaign.

Not only is getting a near-perfect fit easy with precise neck-and-sleeve sizing in traditional, tailored and slim fits, but the versatility of the shirts offered by Lands’ End is a major advantage. There are enough checks, stripes and colors to appeal to anyone’s sartorial tastes,

Dressed up with a knit necktie, it can be worn with a blazer or tweed sport jacket for a day in the office.

The shirt is also perfect for wearing without a necktie — think a Saturday morning trip to the grocery store, when you’re wearing dark denim jeans or corduroy pants with suede chukka boots and a Shetland sweater or tweed sport jacket.

The bottom line: The off-the-rack shirting from Lands’ End is a much better value than similar shirts sold by department stores for a much higher price. When ordering a shirt, be sure to specify a monogram, which will give your shirt a very personalized and custom feel.
