A tweed dream come true from Charles Tyrwhitt

It may be the middle of the summer, but discerning gentlemen everywhere are eying the return of autumn.

While it is surely two months before the weather permits the wearing of tweed and corduroy, the staples of autumn are now available for pre-ordering at Charles Tyrwhitt.

Among the new autumn collection offerings that stand out is the stunning jacket pictured below.

With its hacking (slanted) pockets, ticket pocket, center vent, surgeon’s cuffs and genuine horn buttons, this is an authentic hacking jacket.

The jacket is also very affordable at £460 (approximately $687, based on exchange rates at the time of writing). In addition, the semi-regular Charles Tyrwhitt promotions means there is a reasonably good chance the price will be lowered by the time autumn is officially here.

Styling tips: Ignore the navy shirt seen in the Charles Tyrwhitt courtesy photograph. Instead, wear an Ivy-style Oxford button-down collar shirt or a classic English spread shirt in a country check pattern. And in keeping with contemporary times, it can be worn without a necktie, although a regimental striped or simple motif necktie would look good. For pants, corduroy, moleskin or even denim jeans are options. To complete the look, go for suede loafers or chukka boots.
