Benson & Clegg visits Washington

Renowned London tailor Benson & Clegg crossed the pond last week for a trunk show in Washington.

However, unlike other traveling tailors they didn't setup in cramped hotel room.

Benson & Clegg's home away from home was Sterling & Burke, a fabulous shop along Pennsylvania Avenue in the posh Georgetown neighborhood. This was quite fitting as Sterling &Burke — from the building itself down to the brands carried — is a bit of Britain in America.

While in Washington, Benson & Clegg also participated in By Invitation Only, a reception on the opening night of the Conservative Political Action Conference. The black-tie optional reception, chaired by the editor of, included several members of Congress among the 200-plus guests.
